At Plant ID & Diagnosis, we care about your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our plant identification and diagnosis app, how we use it, and how we protect it. By using Plant ID & Diagnosis, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide accurate plant identification and diagnosis results.

Images you submit: Photos taken with your camera or selected from your gallery that you send for plant analysis.
Identification history: Records of plants you have previously identified or diagnosed, stored locally on your device and optionally in our systems to power your History screen.
Device information: Basic technical data such as device model, operating system version, and app version, used for debugging and compatibility.
Usage data: Anonymous information about how features are used (e.g., which screens are visited) to help us improve the app.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials unless you explicitly provide them in a future account feature.

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to operate and improve the Plant ID & Diagnosis service:

Analyze submitted images to identify plant species and detect diseases or health issues.
Display your identification and diagnosis history on the History screen.
Improve the accuracy of our plant recognition models (using anonymized, aggregated image data only).
Diagnose technical problems and improve app stability.

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

Camera & Photo Library Access

Plant ID & Diagnosis requests permission to access your device camera and photo library so you can submit images for analysis. This permission is used only when you actively choose to take a photo or select one from your gallery.

Images are transmitted securely to our servers for processing and are not shared with any third parties. You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings.

History & Data Retention

Your plant identification and diagnosis history is stored to provide a convenient record of past analyses. You may delete individual history entries or clear your entire history at any time from within the app.

If you delete your history, the associated data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: Trusted technical partners who assist in operating our infrastructure, bound by confidentiality agreements.
Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or government authority.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred under the same privacy protections described here.

Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) to protect images and data in transit. Data at rest is stored on secured servers with restricted access. While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

Plant ID & Diagnosis is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app.
